Fruit Salad With Melted Chocolate

The past couple of weeks have been extremely hot on my side of the world (South Africa) and I have been snacking on fruit salads lately to add to my water intake and the suggested fruit servings according to researchers and nutritionists.


This particular masterpiece does not include any cooking but it’s still good for anybody out there looking for an alternative to unhealthy snacks such as chips, sweets and fizzy drinks. Foods to avoid for a sexy body are mentioned in this article. (You can thank me later)


All that is required for this particular recipe are simple fruits such as apples, bananas, grapes and strawberries. You can be creative and let your imagination run wild on this one and go as far as adding more of your favourite fruits if you like.


For the dressing I went with melted dark chocolate but you can use yogurt, custard or even ice-cream if that’s what you prefer. There are no limitations to what you can do with a simple fruit salad.


The weight watchers out there who are picky when it comes to their dessert, dark chocolate or no dressing should be suitable for you and you can still get away with nibbling on this masterpiece without any feelings of guilt and shame.


You might also want to freeze the fruits and serve them in a cone to convince your little ones to eat their fruits instead of the sugary snacks like chocolate and sweets/candy.

Fruit Salad With Melted Chocolate

  • 2 Apples (Diced)
  • 2 Bananas (Cut into small pieces)
  • 5 Strawberries (Cut into small pieces)
  • 4 blocks of dark chocolate
  • 1 cup of grapes (red or white)
  • 250 ml of hot water


  1. In a bowl, add all the fruits and mix well
  2. In a sauce pan, add the the boiled water and put the chocolate blocks into a bowl and cover the sauce pan
  3. Stir the chocolate bars until they turn into a sauce
  4. Pour the melted chocolate over the fruits and serve
